Morning – Chimpanzee Trekking:
After breakfast, meet your driver-guide and head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules. You’ll be assigned a chimpanzee group and a park guide who knows the forest trails. Trekking starts around 8:00 AM and lasts between 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the chimpanzees’ location. Once found, spend one hour observing these fascinating primates, capturing photos, and learning about their social behavior and lifestyle.
Afternoon – Bigodi Swamp Walk:
After lunch, explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary on a guided nature walk. Walk along boardwalks and forest pathways for about three hours while spotting over 50 bird species including the great blue turaco, hornbills, and kingfishers alongside monkeys such as the black-and-white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, and l’hoest’s monkeys. Look out for bushbucks and otters from the top canopy platforms. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
