The drive northward takes approximately five to six hours, offering beautiful countryside views, roadside markets, and vibrant local communities. Along the way, you will stop for lunch in Masindi Town before continuing toward the park.
Upon arrival, you will enter the park through Kichumbanyobo Gate and proceed to one of the most impressive natural attractions in Uganda, the top of Murchison Falls. Here, the mighty River Nile forces itself through a narrow seven-meter gorge before plunging powerfully into the gorge below. The thunderous roar of the falls, combined with the mist and dramatic scenery, creates an unforgettable experience.
After enjoying photography and sightseeing at the falls, you will continue to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner
Wake up early for breakfast and prepare for an exciting wildlife safari in Murchison Falls National Park. The morning game drive offers the best opportunity to spot wildlife while animals remain active in the cool hours of the day.
As you explore the vast savannah plains, your guide will help you search for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, Uganda kobs, hartebeests, warthogs, and many other animals. The park also hosts a remarkable variety of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation before heading out for one of the highlights of the safari, the afternoon launch cruise on the Nile River.
The boat cruise takes you upstream toward the bottom of Murchison Falls. During the journey, you will encounter large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles basking along the riverbanks, elephants cooling off near the water, and numerous bird species, including African fish eagles, kingfishers, and herons.
As the boat approaches the falls, the scenery becomes even more dramatic. You may choose to hike from the bottom to the top of the falls for spectacular panoramic views and photography opportunities. Your guide will meet you at the top and transfer you back to the lodge.
Enjoy dinner and spend another peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Accommodation: As above
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
After an early breakfast, you will begin the long but incredibly scenic journey to Kidepo Valley National Park in northeastern Uganda. Although this drive takes most of the day, it offers an authentic glimpse into Uganda’s remote countryside and changing landscapes.
As you travel through northern Uganda, you will notice many traditional manyattas, the grass-thatched homes commonly used by the Karamojong people. The route also features beautiful hills, open plains, rocky outcrops, and seasonal rivers that separate the Acholi and Karamoja regions.
The changing scenery makes the drive enjoyable and rewarding for travelers who appreciate road-trip adventures and cultural encounters.
You will arrive in Kidepo Valley National Park in the late afternoon, just in time for lunch and a short evening game drive in the famous Narus Valley. This area attracts large numbers of wildlife due to the permanent water source provided by the Narus River.
Keep your camera ready because you may spot elephants, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes before returning to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight stay at Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp. Luxury travelers may choose Apoka Safari Lodge, while budget travelers can stay at UWA Bandas.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Begin your morning with breakfast while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the wilderness. Afterwards, head out for an extensive game drive through the Narus Valley, one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Uganda.
The valley supports a high concentration of wildlife because of its permanent water supply. As a result, animals gather here throughout the year, creating excellent opportunities for game viewing and photography.
During the drive, you may encounter large herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, zebras, elands, waterbucks, and different antelope species. Kidepo is also famous for predators, especially lions. With some luck, you may witness lions resting in the grass or preparing for a hunt.
Additionally, Kidepo remains the only park in Uganda where visitors can occasionally spot cheetahs. These rare cats make the park even more special for wildlife enthusiasts.
After the morning safari, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later in the afternoon, head back into the Narus Valley for another rewarding game drive as the sun begins to set across the savannah.
Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Following breakfast, enjoy another morning game drive in Narus Valley. Every safari drive in Kidepo offers a unique experience because wildlife movements constantly change throughout the park.
The open savannah landscapes provide excellent visibility, allowing you to observe wildlife from different viewpoints. Bird lovers will also appreciate the diversity of bird species found within the park.
After lunch at the lodge, you will continue with an afternoon excursion toward the Kidepo Valley near the South Sudan border. Here, you will visit the famous hot springs surrounded by dramatic scenery and untouched wilderness.
This region also provides opportunities to spot ostriches, which are rarely seen elsewhere in Uganda. Although their numbers have declined due to poaching pressures near the border, Kidepo remains one of the few places in the country where these fascinating birds still survive.
After exploring the area, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Enjoy an early breakfast before checking out of the lodge and beginning your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe. Although the drive is long, it allows you to once again admire the beautiful scenery of northern Uganda.
Along the way, you will make several stopovers for refreshments, stretching, and lunch. Your guide will ensure a comfortable and enjoyable journey throughout the day.
You will arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening. Depending on your travel plans, Experiya Tour Company will either transfer you to your hotel or drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
