Dinner and overnight: Cassia Lodge
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive west toward Elizabeth Queen National Park. The journey itself is an adventure, passing rolling hills, tea plantations, farmland, roadside markets, and small towns that showcase rural Ugandan life. Stop in Mbarara for lunch before continuing to the park.
By late afternoon, wildlife sightings may begin almost immediately. During your evening game drive, explore the open savannah as the sun sets. Watch for elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, warthogs, and a wide variety of birdlife. The golden light and peaceful atmosphere make this your first unforgettable safari experience.
Dinner and overnight: Parkview Safari Lodge
Wake up early for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, one of the park’s most rewarding wildlife areas. Experience the savannah coming alive: lions resting after their night hunt, elephants moving gracefully, and Uganda kob grazing in large numbers.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and a short rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. From the water, observe wildlife up close: pods of hippos line the banks, Nile crocodiles bask in the sun, and elephants approach the water to drink. Birdlife is abundant, making this a photographer’s paradise. The calm pace of the cruise allows you to soak in the park’s beauty from a unique perspective.
Dinner and overnight: Parkview Safari Lodge
After breakfast, drive south to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. Spend time searching fig and acacia trees where these lions often rest during the day. Seeing lions perched in trees is a surreal and unforgettable safari moment.
Later, continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The landscape gradually changes from open savannah to lush forested hills, with cooler air and dramatic scenery as you climb into the gorilla highlands. Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi, enjoy dinner, and rest early in preparation for the next day’s unforgettable gorilla encounter.
Dinner and overnight: Gorilla Mist Camp
Wake up early, filled with anticipation for your gorilla adventure. After breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by experienced rangers. Set off into the forest with guides and trackers for your gorilla trekking experience.
The trek takes you through dense vegetation, forested slopes, and narrow trails. When you finally encounter a family of mountain gorillas, spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching them feed, play, rest, and interact.
