Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park
After an early breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. You will then set off for Murchison Falls National Park, a journey of about 5-6 hours. En route, you will stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. At Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, enjoy a guided walk to see the rhinos in their natural habitat. This sanctuary is home to Uganda’s only wild rhinos, offering a unique chance to observe these majestic creatures up close. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. Check in to your lodge and enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Safari on the Nile
Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile. This area is teeming with wildlife, and you will have the chance to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelope species. The early hours are ideal for observing the animals as they are most active.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, embark on a boat safari on the Nile River towards the base of Murchison Falls. After an early breakfast, drive to Budongo Forest, located at the southern edge of Murchison Falls National Park. Budongo Forest is home to a significant population of chimpanzees and other primates. Upon arrival, you will receive a briefing before embarking on your chimpanzee tracking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will trek through the dense forest, listening for the calls of the chimps and following their movements.

Day 5: Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time to visit local attractions, such as the Entebbe Botanical Gardens or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.
