Begin your day with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing by experienced park rangers. During the briefing, learn about gorilla trekking guidelines, safety procedures, and conservation efforts. Afterwards, enter the dense tropical forest with your guides and begin searching for a habituated mountain gorilla family.
As you follow forest trails through lush vegetation, listen for birds and other wildlife while enjoying the beauty of Bwindi’s ancient rainforest. Depending on the gorillas’ movements and the terrain, the trek may take several hours. Once you locate the family, spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas as they feed, groom, play, and interact in their natural habitat.
After this remarkable encounter, return to your lodge for lunch and some well-deserved relaxation. In the afternoon, you may choose an optional community walk to discover local traditions, experience cultural performances, and learn about the daily lives of communities living near the forest. During your journey, enjoy a wildlife drive through the sector as your guide helps you search for lions resting in fig trees. Although sightings depend on natural conditions, the experience offers an exciting opportunity to explore this unique landscape. You may also spot other wildlife along the way.
Later, stop for lunch before continuing towards the main areas of Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you travel, watch the scenery change from forested highlands to open savannah and acacia-dotted plains.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start your morning with breakfast before heading to Kyambura Gorge for an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure. Often called the “Valley of the Apes,” this lush forested gorge creates a striking contrast with the surrounding savannah and provides a habitat for chimpanzees and other primates.
Accompanied by experienced guides, venture into the forest in search of chimpanzees. Along the way, learn about their social behaviour, feeding habits, and distinctive calls. You may also encounter other forest wildlife, although sightings depend on natural conditions.
After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a scenic boat cruise along the waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George.
During the cruise, watch for hippos gathering in the water, Nile crocodiles basking along the banks, and elephants and buffaloes visiting the shoreline. In addition, look out for the many water birds that thrive around the channel. The cruise provides excellent photography opportunities and a different perspective on the park’s rich ecosystem.
Finally, return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

As you explore the park, enjoy the opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat and capture memorable photographs. After the game drive, begin your return journey to Entebbe through Uganda’s scenic countryside.
Along the way, stop for lunch before continuing to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or to your hotel, depending on your travel arrangements. Please allow sufficient time for the road transfer when booking your international flight.
