After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the park headquarters in Kinigi. Here, you’ll meet your park ranger and be briefed on gorilla trekking etiquette and safety. Small groups of eight are assigned to one of the twelve habituated gorilla families, carefully managed to reduce human impact on the animals.
The trek itself can last anywhere from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorilla family you’re visiting. It’s not always easy muddy trails, slippery slopes, and high altitudes can make it challenging but the journey is part of the magic.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer a slower pace, enjoy a relaxed breakfast with panoramic volcano views before beginning your return drive to Kigali.
